Most trips run between 3 to 5 hours, depending on the route, group pace, and conditions. 

The landscape in Pisgah Nation Forest is challenging by nature, however our Half-Day Expeditions are designed to be beginner to intermediate friendly, and we adjust the pace and terrain based on your group.

 We recommend:

• Comfortable shoes or hiking boots 
• Water (at least 1/2 gallon) 
• A light snack 
• Hiking Poles if perfered
• Weather-appropriate clothing and a pancho just in case

We’ll send you a simple prep guide after booking.

You can:

• Join as an individual 
• Book a private group experience 
• Customize your trip for your group

 We’ll provide a specific meeting location after booking, based on the experience you choose and current trail conditions. 

 We keep a close eye on conditions.

Yes, absolutely. Our Half-Day Expeditions can be a great experience for families.

*We do recommend that kids have some prior experience with moderate to strenuous hikes, as certain routes may require steady movement and endurance to keep up with the group.

Pisgah National Forest is known for it's challenging turain. We offer a range of difficulty levels however.

Before your trip, we’ll make sure you’re matched with a route that fits your comfort, ability, and goals.

 Depends on the experience you choose, but…

We specifically design routes to include:

• Waterfalls 
• Mountain overlooks 
• Beautiful forest sections

We recommend booking 2 weeks or more in advance, especially during weekends and peak seasons. 

Typically, we will meet at the PAC Shack in Little Switzerland and lead the guests to the trailhead.
